Alexa Ray Joel’s Suicidal Cry For Help

alexarayjoelAlexa Ray Joel is a popular piano artist living in New York City.  If that seems to ring a bell for you, it should: she’s the offspring of an even-famous-er NYC-living piano-playing artist: the one and only Billy Joel.

Recently, it was brought to the media’s attention that Joel had been hospitalized for an unknown condition.  It’s been released that the female piano player’s “medical issue” was an attempt at suicide and ultimately, over a romantic relationship.

The LA Times has the low-down on Alexa’s 911 call.  It states that Joel, in a depression over a failed relationship, took eight pills of Traumeel, which are an over-the-counter homeopathic supplement to combat joint inflammation.  Side note: The most potent ingredient of Traumeel is probably Echinacea. Joel was reportedly distraught over her recent breakup with musician Jimmy Riot.  I have no idea who that is.

Joel reportedly ingested eight of the homeopathic pills and called 911 herself after encountering a brief stint where she couldn’t breathe.  She told operators on the phone that she “did not want to die.”

Joel’s ex-boyfriend, Jimmy Riot (snort), was interviewed this past Sunday and was asked how Alexa was doing.  Riot (snort) stated that he hadn’t a clue.

Any joking aside, Alexa Ray Joel is a beautiful girl.  She’s a beautifully talented girl.  I’ve seen her play in NYC clubs and man, can she wail.  This girl was also under the impression that she was taking sleeping pills instead of an all-natural anti-inflammatory.  I do think she meant business in one shape or form.  The girl has definitely got some unresolved issues: she and ex-boyfriend Riot broke up over a year ago, reports say.

But honestly.  Whether the media’s interest in this issue is supposed to be an innocent attempt at making light of a situation that could have been much, much worse, we really need to back it up a foot or two and see it for what it really is: a young girl crying out for help because she’s at the end of her rope.  There’s nothing funny about that.
